چکیده

Photoionization methods have been used to study the reactions of the molecular ion in vinyl fluoride to yield the ionic products C3H 3F{, C3H 4F+, and C3Ht. Quantitative measurements are reported of the effect of the vibrational state of the reactant ion on the product distribution and overall reaction cross section. Reaction cross sections for all three channels decrease with reactant internal energy. The effect on the reaction pathway producing C3H 3F{ is especially pronounced, with 0.18 eV of vibrational excitation being sufficient to reduce the reaction probability by 75%. Deactivation of vibrationally excited reactant ions competes with the reaction and is shown to be an efficient process.

Vibrationally resolved partial cross sections and asymmetry parameters for carbon K-shell photoionization of the CO2 molecule

We have measured the vibrationally resolved partial cross sections σv′ 1 and asymmetry parameters βv′ 1 for C K-shell photoionization of the CO2 molecule in the u shape resonance region above the C K-shell ionization threshold. The positions of both the maxima of σv′ 1 and the minima of βv′ 1 move towards the C K-shell threshold with increasing symmetric stretching vibrational excitation v′ 1 i...

Mode-dependent enhancement of photodissociation and photoionization in a seven atom molecule.

We report the first experimental demonstration of vibrational mode-dependent enhancement in photodissociation and photoionization of a seven atom molecule, methylamine (CH(3)NH(2)). The fundamental C-H stretches and the overtones or combinations of CH(3) bends were prepared via stimulated Raman excitation (SRE) prior to their 243.135 nm one-photon dissociation or two-photon ionization. The phot...

A Computational Study to Find the Vibrational Modes Connected with Specific Molecular Structures of Calculated Compound

The purpose of this research is to provide a deeper understanding of the planar high- symmetry configuration instability. In the ideal case, the distortion corresponds to the movements of nuclei along normal modes that belong to non-totally symmetric irreps of the high symmertry (HS) point group of molecule. The analysis of the structural distortion from the HS nuclear arrangements of the JT ac...

A MODEL STUDY OF LASER ISOTOPE SEPARATION BY PHOTOIONIZATION OR PHOTODISSOCIATION PROCESS

In this study, the selective photoexication of isotopic mixtures by laser light is investigated. Atomic and molecular methods are examined and rate equations are derived for both cases. Two and three step photoionization techniques are considered and rate equations are solved for ion yields. The molecular photodissociation process is also studied and the dependence of the dissociation produ...
